Volleyball Grems beat Crest Ridge, team now 3-0

image descriptionSacred Heart Volleyball beat Crest Ridge 2 sets to 1, on Thursday night. They lost the first set 19-25, but won the next two, 25-15, 25-16.

The JV lost in straight sets 18-25, 19-25.

In the varsity match:
Becky Full had 13 kills, 2 blocks, 4 digs, & 9 assists.
Hannah Wilhoit had 8 kills, 15 digs, 2 aces and 1 assist.
Anna Callis had 4 kills 1 block, 2 digs, 3 aces and 1 assist.
Laura Wadley 3 kills, 1 block, 3 digs, & 1 assist.
Erin O’Connor had 3 kills, 1 block 4 digs, & 12 assists.
Julie Chancellor had 13 digs.
Annalise Mergen had 4 digs, in 1 set of action.
Bea Coruna had 3 digs & 1 ace.
Hannah Orell had 2 digs and 5 assists.

Varsity’s record is now 3-0. Next match is Thursday, Sept 4, when they host Sweet Springs, at 5:30 p.m.

Also, Sacred Heart graduates are competing in a volleyball tournament at Columbia College on Friday and Saturday.

Sydney Smith, a 2013 SH graduate, is playing for Arizona Christian University.

Jennifer (Fall) Denham, a 2002 SH graduate, is the head coach for Arizona Christian University. Denham was an assistant coach at Sacred Heart from 2004 to 2008.

ACU plays Robert Morris, at 3 p.m. Friday and Bethel University at 7 p.m.Friday.

They play Indiana University East at 11 a.m. Saturday and Bennedictine at 3 p.m. Saturday, coach Fall said.
