Soccer Grems score 8-1 win over Cristo Rey

image descriptionThe Sacred Heart Boys Soccer Team opened the first round of the Barstow Tournament with an 8-1 victory over Cristo Rey on Tuesday.

The Gremlins went down 1-0 in the first ten minutes on a misplayed ball but quickly regained composure and leveled the score at 1 with a Max Martin penalty kick.

The Gremlins’ next goal came from Will Prenger about 20 minutes into the half. Freshman Sebastian Aguero was the next Gremlin to find the back of the net to make it 3-1 going into the half.

The second half seemed to be all Sacred Heart with Brandon Cooper,and Devon Grose adding the next two scores for the Grems. This was followed by another from Aguero goal and then two goals from Freshman Sergio Guerra to round out the Gremlin scoring.

The Gremlins return to action on Thursday in the second round of the tournament versus St. Paul’s Lutheran.
