Lady Grems win in two at Hallsville

image descriptionSacred Heart volleyball traveled to Hallsville to open their season on Monday.

JV won 2 sets to 1. Losing first set 21-25, and winning the next two 25-11, & 25-14.

The Varsity won 2 sets to 0, 25-6, & 25-14.
Hannah Wilhoit had 8 kills, 2 kill blocks, 7 digs and 1 ace.
Becky Full had 6 kills, 2 aces and 8 assists.
Anna Callis had 2 kills & 6 aces.
Erin O’Connor had 2 kills in 3 attempts with 2 assists.
Laura Wadley had 1 kill & 1 kill block.
Mary Fischer had 1 kill, 1 dig & 6 assists.
Julie Chancellor had 4 digs, 6 points & 2 assists.
Hannah Orell had 7 assists & 4 digs.
Bea Coruna had 2 digs.
Elex Simon had 1 assist & 2 digs.
Annalise Mergen had 2 digs.

“The first set we looked very sharp with precise passes, good sets and swings. If we had a negative that first set it had to be our serves. We missed several, but at least we were being aggressive,” commented head coach David Fall.

Their home opener  is Tuesday Aug. 26 vs Father Tolton Catholic, starting at 6 p.m. The Lady Grems travel to Crest Ridge Thursday. A home match with Sweet Springs is scheduled for Sept. 4.
