Lady Grems beat Tolton in two sets

SH-Tolton-6The Sacred Heart Lady Gremlins scored a win at home over Father Tolton Tuesday night, winning 25-21, 25-19, in two sets during the Lady Grems’ first home match of the season.

Sacred Heart varsity moved to 2-0 on the season with the win.

Fr. Tolton took a 14-8 lead in the first set. Julie Chancellor stepped to the service line to start an 8-0 run to put the Gremlins in front.

” I thought we really cleaned up our passes and sets at that point, allowing us to attack,” commented coach David Fall.

The second set both teams scored in bunches again with Hannah Wilhoit scoring 5 in a row early and Bea Coruna scoring 6 in a row in the middle or the set.

Well balanced attacking from Hannah Wilhoit with 6 kills, Becky Full with 5 kills and Anna Callis with 4 kills.

Good passes off of Tolton’s attacks resulted in 10 digs for Becky, 10 for Hannah Wilhoit, 7 for Bea Coruna and 5 for Julie Chancellor.

Erin O’Connor and Becky each finished with 6 assists.

The JV lost a close match winning the first set 25-18, losing the second and third 20-25 and 6-15.
