gavelThe following cases were heard during the August 18 Law Day docket:

Bradley, Alexander, 29, Sedalia, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a controlled substance. The charges arose from separate arrests, one on May 11, 2013 by Sedalia Police Officer Todd Nappe and another on October 27 by Det. Michael Elwood. The defendant possessed methamphetamine on both dates. He was sentenced to serve two 5 year terms to run consecutively for a total sentence of 10 years.

Chavez, Salvador, 26, Sedalia, pleaded guilty to driving while revoked and was sentenced to serve 180 days in jail. Sedalia Police Det. Kevin Klein arrested the defendant November 27 for the offense, a felony due to the defendant’s prior convictions.

Hursman, Chelsey, 22, Marshall, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. La Monte Police Officer David Turner found methamphetamine and syringes in the defendant’s possession during a November 16 traffic stop. The defendant was sentenced to serve 3 years in prison.

Madrid, Victor, 34, Sedalia, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance. Sedalia Police Det. Michael Elwood found methamphetamine in the defendant’s pocket during an August 2, 2013 traffic stop. The case was continued to September 15 for sentencing.

Vose, Roderick, 26, Sedalia, pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. After arresting the defendant on an outstanding warrant April 24, Sedalia Police Officer Rodney Engelbrecht found methamphetamine and scales in the defendant’s possession. He was sentenced to serve 4 years in prison.
