Katy Trail photo contest announced

KatyDepot-summerThe Sedalia Heritage Foundation is seeking photographs to develop an exhibit of images taken along Missouri’s Katy Trail.

The exhibit will be on display during 2015 in commemoration with the 25th anniversary of the longest rails to trails in the United States.

There is no fee to enter. Entry forms are available at the Katy Depot or online at www.katydepotsedalia.com.

Photos will be judged with cash, prizes and ribbons being awarded in various categories. Photographs submitted for the contest will become the property of the SHF to be used in promoting the Katy Trail / Sedalia Katy Depot.

Entry deadline is Nov. 1, 2014.

The mission of the Sedalia Heritage Foundation is to preserve, maintain, interpret, promote and operate the Historic Katy Depot Landmark. The Katy Depot serves the public in the following ways: Sedalia’s Welcome Center; Missouri Tourism Affiliate Welcome Center; Year round visitor destination and Heritage Interpretive Site; Full service trailhead to Katy Trail and Sedalia Heritage Trail; Guided and self guided tours; Gift & souvenir store; Special exhibits, events and kids activities; Event rental space; Sedalia Literacy Council’s Book Swap; headquarter offices for the Sedalia CVB and Chamber; and home to Champion Bicycle Shop.
