Water break erupts at Auto Zone

June 10, 2014

in Local

WaterBreak-1A water break occurred at Auto Zone, 2601 W. Broadway, around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, slowing eastbound traffic to a crawl. The pressure broke apart the pavement near the east entrance of the business, allowing muddy water to gurgle up and  flood the eastbound lanes of Broadway.

The Sedalia Water Department showed up on the scene shortly after 5 p.m. to assess the situation. Meanwhile, area businesses reported having no water pressure. Arby’s closed for the night just before 6 p.m. A backhoe remained on the scene Wednesday morning and water pressure has been restored to the area. Photo by Randy Kirby, Sedalia Weekly Observer.
