She attended school in Blue Springs, and Adrian, and moved to La Monte in 1996. She worked for Interstate Studio about 17 years as a machine operator, proof-reader and held other job titles. She enjoyed camping, visiting with family and friends and grilling on the back porch.
She is survived by her father, Paul Ricketts of California; her mother, Della Scott (Robert), of Cole Camp; her step-daughter, Becci Comfort of Warrensburg; one brother, Lester Leon Ricketts (Kim) of Burleson, Texas; one step-brother, Jeffrey Doak of Raymore; one nephew, John Ricketts of Burleson, Texas; two grandchildren, Seth Comfort and Caly Comfort, of Warrensburg, and her companion, Dale Comfort of the home.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Thomas Doak.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, at the Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Ed Broyles officiating.
The family will receive friends at the chapel, one hour prior to service.
Burial will be at Payne Cemetery, North of Knob Noster, Johnson County.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Animal Shelter in care of the funeral chapel.
