Demolition began Friday for a damaged building in downtown Sedalia at Second and Ohio.
Midland Wrecking, Inc. of Lenexa, Kansas was hired to demolish the three-story structure located at 202-206 S. Ohio.
But shortly after the process began, the yellow claw tool used to pull the material down reportedly bent and work ceased for the day. The 100 block of West Second Street remains fenced off, as well as the street in front of the building on South Ohio. Work resumed on Saturday. About half of the structure remained on Sunday. The rest came down late Monday afternoon. Now the cleanup of the rubble begins. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia Weekly Observer.
