S-C observes candlelight tradition

Candlelight.AlmaMater.0515Smith-Cotton High School held its traditional Candlelight Service Thursday morning, May 15 in the Heckart Performing Arts Center.

Above, members of Smith-Cotton High School’s Class of 2014 sing the Alma Mater during Thursday morning’s Candlelight Service in the Heckart Performing Arts Center. The ceremony is an annual tradition in which the outgoing seniors pass the torch of leadership to the junior class officers.

Members of the Class of 2014, their family members and friends milled about in front of the Heckart Performing Arts Center for almost an hour after the ceremony, taking photos and exchanging hugs.
