Lori Haney became the Executive Director of Citizens Against Spouse Abuse, Inc. (CASA) in Sedalia, MO in September 2010. Prior to her work at CASA, she spent six years in a neighboring county providing direct services to survivors of rape and abuse.
Lori has been a member of Sedalia Business Women 2011, serving previously as the 1st Vice President and President-Elect. In April 2013 to April 2014, she served as the Domestic Violence Committee state chair for Business Women of Missouri. She has served as a Sedalia/Pettis County United Way campaign speaker since 2010. She is actively involved in various causes in her community to end homelessness and poverty and promotes several community collaborative efforts.
President Michelle Sparks called the Sedalia Business Women’s May Dinner meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Debbie Ulmer gave the invocation, and Sparks led the Club in the Club Collect followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. Shirley McCown introduced the guests. Dinner was served.
The May meeting was under the direction of the Music Committee, Co-Chairs- Amanda Davis and LiShanna Bredehoeft.
A big thank you to the co-chairs of the committee, Amanda Davis and LiShanna Bredehoeft and their large committee for planning the Installation of Officers.
The written spotlight for the evening was by Lori Haney and reflected on the past year’s events and the coming year’s theme.
The dinner meeting was under the direction of the Music Committee and the program was installation of officers. Rhoda Moore, Moore’s Greenhouse, provided fresh cut flowers for the tables and Kay’s Crafts provided the materials for decoration of the installation back drop. The new officers installed are listed below:

Lori Haney, President thanked Nancy Grey, Michelle Sparks, Her father, her mother, her son, her daughter and her husband Lee, all of these people played an important role in her life to help shape and mold her to be the woman that she is today. She also thanked all of the club members for helping her too.
She then outlined her goals for the upcoming year. She stated she would like to have a social media committee. She also stated that she wanted all of the different generations working with each other to help us grow as an organization. She encouraged networking with the local and state level. Increase the club’s visibility in the community, and to learn from each other, across the generational lines so that we may continue to build on that legacy left by the women before us.
Lori Haney won the May birthday present.
The June meeting will be June 5 under the direction of the Finance Committee; Michelle Sparks, Co-chairs- Lori Haney and Donna Hirner-Gardner
The meeting was adjourned with the Emblem Benediction at 8:25 p.m.
