Councilwoman Monsees resigns

May 6, 2014

in Local

WandaOn Tuesday, May 6, 2014, Mayor Stephen Galliher reluctantly accepted the resignation of Wanda Monsees from her position as Second Ward Councilwoman due to medical concerns. This resignation arrives just weeks after her ward reaffirmed their confidence in Ms. Monsees’ abilities by reelecting her unchallenged to the Sedalia City Council on April 8, 2014.

“While I fully understand and support Councilwoman Monsees’ decision,” said Mayor Galliher, “her influence will be greatly missed by those she has served in the Second Ward and everyone in the Sedalia community.”

Ms. Monsees was first elected to the Sedalia City Council in April 2009. During her years of service, the City has continued its efforts to grow while being ever-mindful of the concerns and needs of its citizens.
