Roadrunners-logoState Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners Alecia Cooley and Sannayyiah Johnson have been nominated to participate in the 2014 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Weekend July 24-27 at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, Fla.

“Each school has an opportunity to nominate players they feel are among the premier players in the country,” said Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher. “Alecia Cooley is a Second-Team All-Region player who just missed averaging a double double as a freshman. She improved a lot during the second semester. Sannayyiah Johnson would have been a two-year starter for us had she not injured her knee. She looked really good this spring.”

The top 40 sophomores are selected to participate by a committee from the NJCAA Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Selection also is based on stats and coaches’ comments. Participants will be announced sometime in May.
