AllStateShowChoir.0429Smith-Cotton High School dominated the selections for the Missouri All-State Show Choir, with nine students named to the 60-member choir.

S-C will be represented by seniors Daniel Akin, John Gilger, Kathleen Matz, Justin Pripusich and Grant Waters, as well as juniors Noah Burnett, Haleigh Carson, Stephen Weeks and Ashlyn Witt. They will attend the Missouri Choral Directors Association conference July 22-24 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel in Jefferson City, where they will learn music and choreography before performing on the final day. To add even more Tiger Pride, choreographer for the performance will be S-C alumnus Chad Alexander.

The choir will be under the direction of Justin Sands, director at Prairie High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

S-C Director of Vocal Music Chris Kindle said the nine students represent the most named to the high honor choir in his tenure at the school; they also comprise the largest contingent from a single school in this year’s choir. Photo courtesy Sedalia School District 200.
