Green Ridge Lady Tigers defeat Windsor, 12-5, in district action, play in title game Wednesday

Green_Ridge_High_SchoolGreen Ridge defeated Windsor in their first round of district play Monday night.

Green Ridge won 12-5 in 7 innings.

Green Ridge scored 1 in the 1st, 8 in the 2nd, 2 in the 4th, and 1 in the 5th.

Windsor scored 3 in the 3rd, 1 in the 4th and 1 in the 6th.

Pitching for Green Ridge was Sam Unkel.

Sam had 8 Ks, 0 Ws, there were 7 allowed hits and 5 earned runs.

At the plate for Green Ridge:

BreAnna Peck was 2 for 3 with a double, a single and 2 RBIs.

Sam Unkel went 2 for 3 with a single, a triple, and 2 RBIs.

Libby Dove was 3 for 4 with 2 singles and a 2 run Home Run.

Evette Vincent was 2 for 4 with a single, a Home Run and 2 RBIs.

Mady Brown was 2 for 4 with 2 singles, and an RBI.

Defensively for Green Ridge the whole team did great with few errors. The outfield had an especially good night with great catches by Alyssa Haverly, Evette Vincent, and Madison Billingsley.

Green Ridge is now 10-2 overall.

“This game counted as the Green Ridge vs. Windsor conference game, so that brings Green Ridge to 6-0 in conference play. With this conference win we sure up the regular season Kaysinger Conference Title,” commented head coach Melissa Brock.

Green Ridge will play Lincoln on Wednesday in the District Championship game.
