S-C tennis takes sixth in S-C Invitational Tournament

Tilley-7The Smith-Cotton boys tennis team took last place in the S-C Invitational Tennis Tournament hosted by the Tigers last Friday at the Liberty Park tennis courts with six teams participating.

“Andrew Tilley earned a second place medal in singles. He went to tie break in the final match and put up an admirable fight! Congrats Andrew!” commented S-C head tennis coach Lensie Means.

S-C’s varsity line up for the day was:

1. Andrew Tilley (singles 1)

2. Carter Lapine (singles 2)

3. Aaron Walters and Matt Strause (Doubles 1)

4. Blake Potts and Jacob Hedrick (Doubles 2)

Team scores were as follows:

1. Marshall 21.5 points

2. Duchesne 18.5 points

3. Lee’s Summit 13.5 points

4. Jefferson City 11.0 points

5. Helias 10.5 points

6. Smith-Cotton 6.0 points
