Betty Jo Jolly, 90, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Sedalia, died Friday, April 18, 2014 at Cypress Springs in Overland Park.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project or National Children’s Cancer Society in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
Born November 10, 1923 in McCracken, Kan., she was the daughter of the late Elbert E. and Neva Mae (Wyman) Twiselton. On May 17, 1943 in Kansas City, Mo., she was married to Richard Lynn Jolly, Sr. who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Lynn Jolly, Jr.
She is survived by a son, William E. (Billy) Jolly, of Overland park, Kan; a daughter-in-law, Carol Gregg, of Belton; and a granddaughter, Alison Jolly, of Sedalia. She is also survived by two sisters, Berty Kappleman and Natalie Hoffman.
Mrs. Jolly was raised and educated in McCracken, Kan. She worked as a hairdresser for many years and had her own shop at 5th & Ohio (Billie’s Beauty Shop).
