“The Lady Vikings hit very well in the first inning scoring 8 runs on 9 hits. They were patient and saw the ball well which allowed them to hit hard line drives up the middle of the field.

“In the field the Lady Vikings were solid. Sandra Arroyo snagged a hard hit line drive that looked like it was out of her reach and Lindsey Foster perfectly executed a drop step in right field to run down and catch a fly ball over her shoulder. Alexa Shull continues to be a wall at third base and Cathy Butts is doing the same over at second base.

“This is our third game in a row without any fielding errors and I’m very proud of how hard the girls are working in the field and at the plate. They are really focusing on doing all of the little things right and it’s paying off for them. Madison continues to do a great job of placing her pitches so that her defense can work for her.

“I can’t say enough about the team effort and every kid on this team puts forth, they are a great group of kids and I’m a very lucky coach to have the honor to work with a team as talented as they are. Thursday Green Ridge comes to La Monte for a 5:00 game,” commented Dabecka Kirk, La Monte R-IV head softball coach.
