CBC-volunteersThe Sedalia Community was recently designated as a member of the Community Star Club for 2013 awarded by the Community Blood Center of Greater Kansas City. This award is given to communities whose residents have donated 400-plus units of blood during the year. The Star Award was received by Bothwell Regional Health Center Auxiliary member Marge Watson, who serves as Chairman of the Blood Drive for this community. This life-saving gift of blood supplies Bothwell Regional Health Center, as well as other hospitals in the area.

Sharing in the honor during the April 8th blood drive at First Christian Church were BRHC Auxiliary volunteers who regularly assist as follows: Anne Hamilton, Anna Craig, Martha Bridges, Marge Watson, Vickie Perry, Jane Cornine, and Mary Jo Stevenson. Other BRHC Auxiliary members on the Blood Bank team are Judy Steele, Anne Lee Bail, Jim and Joyce Monroe and Betty Christal.

The next blood drive at First Christian Church, 200 South Limit Avenue, is scheduled for June 3. If you are an eligible donor, mark your calendar and be present to help our community meet and exceed the 400-plus goal for 2014. Over 400 units of blood donated — 800-plus lives saved.
