The Sedalia Business Women’s Organization met for its regular dinner meeting on April 3 at Best Western State Fair Motor Inn. The meeting was called to order by Michelle Sparks, President. The invocation was given by Debbie Ulmer, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and Club Collect. Hostesses were Denise Jaegers and Cindy Weaver. Guests introduced by Missy Marksberry were Rhonda Ahern and Judy Crawford.
The program was planned by the Special Projects Committee chaired by Sue Parrish, Missy Marksberry, and Laura Briscoe. The guest speaker was Vicki Oberkrom, a Community Relations Manager for the pharmaceutical firm BioGen Idec Hemophilia Services. Mrs. Oberkrom’s 30-year career in health care includes working as a nurse and founding and managing the bleeding disorders program for Walgreens.
Check presentations of $200 each were made to Shirley Homan representing Meals on Wheels, Judy Crawford representing the Show-Me Christian Youth Home, and Tom Miller representing Honor Flight. These donations were made possible through support of the SBW’s annual chicken dinner held in the fall.
