President Linda Nau called the meeting to order and Chaplain Mary Mosier gave a devotional and prayer titled “A Flower For You.” Mosier read the minutes of the last meeting and Alva Rasa gave the treasurer’s report.
The Blue Star Memorial report was read and Charlotte Scholl reported that Girl Scouts will soon be planting a garden. A $50 donation for that project was apprpved.
In other business, Wanda Rasa provided information on the bluebird and Barbara Reyes presented a program on the screech owl, with illustrations and photographs.
Freese told the group that the midwest district meeting was held March 22 in Urich, Mo. Those who attended inclujded President Linda Nau, Vice-President Judy Bell, Recording Secretary Cheryl Griffin, Corresponding Secretary Lorinda Good and members Barbara Reyes and Wanda Rasa. That meeting was held at the Red Fox Winery and was followed by a gift exchange.
A planned discussion for an April tour was tabled until the April meeting. A motion was made by Scholl that the group contacct Mary Merk of the Sedalia Parks and Recreation Department about purchasing and planting one or two trees on Arbor Day, April 4. The club allocated $35 for the project. Nau will notify the group about the time and placement for the trees.
The next meeting will be held April 12 at Broadway Babtist Church. Visitors and new members are invited. Photo submitted.
