mo-molmrivhs-letter-150The La Monte Lady Vikings won a double header against South Holt Monday.

Highlights: Cathy Butts and Daniele Rose both hit homeruns, Vada DeMotte was 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBIs, Madison Harris 1 for 3 with a double, Alexa Shull 3 for 4 with a double.

“Madison Harris and Maya Martin split time tonight in the circle both threw very well with Madison recording 6 strike outs in two innings of work in the first game and 5 strike outs in the 3 innings of work in the second game. Maya threw 6 strike outs in 3 innings in the first game and 2 in 3 innings in the second game. Both of these games were a great opportunity to get everyone in the game and work on some fundamentals and as we move into the Kaysinger portion of our season.

“The whole team hit well tonight off of Shelby Pettijohn of South Holt. Shelby threw well in both games but the Lady Vikings were seeing the ball well and making great contact. We’re getting better at being short to the ball and long through it and cutting the ball in half. I proud of the fact that these girls never give up and they play hard from the first pitch to the last pitch,” commented La Monte R-4 head coach Debecka Kirk.

The Lady Vikings play Cole Camp at home today at 5 p.m.. On Thursday they play in Windsor at 5 p.m. and Friday they play Northwest at home at 5 p.m.
