Club President Sherri Bond welcomed the guests and members and Barbara Clevenger presented the minutes of the previous meeting, which were approved. Stacey Beard gave the treasurer’s report and it was noted that the local group currently has 29 members.
Erica Cox, chief juvenile officer for Pettis County, was the featured speaker. She said the recently-implemented drug court offers support to young people by providing counseling, drug testing and mandatory court appearances twice a month.
In other business, Bond noted that cupcakes donated to the Child Safe Auction raised $150 and Betty Hopkins, second vice president and chaplain, reported on the state meeting.
It was also noted that Hopkins and Kris Cox would attend Legislative Day March 11 in Jefferson City, and that Pettis County McKinley Days would be observed March 20 at the Best Western State Fair Motor Inn, where Vicki Hartzler will be the speaker.
The next regular meeting for the club will be held March 13.
