Kaysinger Conference high school art awards listed

KaysingerArt-1Kaysinger high school art students from 10 schools were awarded several ribbons, medals, and Best of Show trophy at the Kaysinger High School Art Conference which took place in Sedalia at SFCC the week of Feb. 7 – 14 during the Kaysinger Conference basketball playoffs.

Diana Gutierrez, a Tipton R-6 sophomore, was awarded Best of Show and first place in the colored pencil category for her reflective drawing titled “Seeing Double”. Diana was also awarded first place in the pastel category for her drawing “Cat Eyes”. Makayla Morris, a sophomore, received first place in the colored marker category for her soldier titled “A Dot for Every Soldier Lost”. Sabrina Urbina, a sophomore, received 1st place in the Pen & Ink category for her portrait of a woman titled “Let it go”. In the graphite category, freshman Reese Wood was awarded first place for her drawing titled “Morning Rose”. In the opaque painting category, junior Laura McCarty received 1st place for her oil painting “You’re My World.”

Other first place awards went to the following: in the charcoal category, Kim Brown from Lincoln R-2; in the design category, Jessica Maher from Green Ridge; mixed media, Branin Scaturro from Morgan Co. R-1; in the transparent paint category, Morgan Heetland from Lincoln R-2; in the photography category, Alli Rogers from Cole Camp; and in the three dimensional category Jaelyn Prevete from Windsor.

The remaining ribbons awarded in graphite were as follows: second place awarded to Jennifer Anderson, Morgan Co. R-1; third place to Maria Garcia, Lamonte R-IV; and fourth place went to freshman Marybeth Loganbill from Tipton R-VI High School. Honorable mentions were; Lindsay Hodges, Smithton; and Sam Sherrell, Northwest. In the marker category, remaining ribbons awarded were: second place awarded to Madi James, Windsor; third place to Shelby Williams, Windsor; and fourth place went to Naomi Thomas from Lincoln R-2.

Ribbons remaining for the colored pencil category were awarded to: second place, Wyatt Chamberlin of Green Ridge; third place, Katie Franken from Tipton R-VI High School; and fourth place went to Natalia Garbuzova, Cole Camp. Honorable mentions were awarded to Sabrina Urbina and Makayla Morris of Tipton R-VI High School; Elly Melnik, Northwest, and Brittany Fisher, Lincoln R-2. Remaining ribbons for the charcoal category were awarded to: second place, Sabrina Urbina from Tipton R-VI High School; third place, Sadie Folsom, Morgan Co. R-1; fourth place, Patty Marinez, LaMonte R-IV; and honorable mention to Devon Cobb from Tipton R-VI High School and Elissa Sell, Lincoln R-2.

In the design category, remaining ribbons were awarded to: second place, Julia Parker, Green Ridge; third place, Cheyenne Wade, Cole Camp; and fourth place, Patty Martinez, LaMonte R-IV. Remaining ribbons awarded in the pen and ink category were: second place to Alicia Canida, LaMonte R-IV; third place, Nicco Hutsell from Smithton; and fourth place, Dallas Chewning from Green Ridge.

In the mixed media category remaining ribbons were awarded to the following: second place, Emily Hayworth, Smithton; third place, Jaelyn Prevete, Windsor; and fourth place, Makayla Morris, Tipton R-VI High School. The following received honorable mentions: Kristin Giannico and Beth Johnson, Lincoln R-2; Shiana Meyer, Northwest; Beau Kratzer and Ashley Summers, Smithton. Remaining ribbons for the opaque paint category were awarded to: second place, Noah Whittle, Morgan Co. R-1; third place, Maria Garcia, LaMonte R-VI; and fourth place to Zach Wolf, Lincoln R-2. Honorable mentions were awarded to Jessica Petree from Tipton R-VI High School.

The remaining ribbons awarded in the transparent paint category were: second place, Tatyana Oliferchuk, Green Ridge; third place , Konner Thompson, Smithton; and fourth place to Keturah Moss, Tipton R-VI High School. Honorable mentions were awarded to Konner Thompson from Smithton. In the pastel category, remaining ribbons were as follows: second place, Kristin Giannico, Lincoln R-2; third place to Makayla Morris, Tipton R-VI High School; fourth place, Shelby Williams, Windsor; and honorable mentions to Sabrina Urbina, Tipton R-VI High School and Tatyana Zaytsev from Northwest.

In the photography/computer generated art category remaining ribbons were: second place Kristin Giannico, Lincoln R-2; third place, Alli Rogers, Cole Camp; and fourth place to Kristin Giannico, Lincoln R-2. Remaining ribbons awarded to the three dimensional category were as follows: second place, Samantha Unkel, Green Ridge; third place, Jerry Nelson, Windsor; fourth place, Jennifer Anderson, Morgan Co.
