William Floyd Dye Jr., 66, LaMonte, died Friday, Feb. 7, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
He was born Feb. 12, 1947, in Columbia, S.C., son of William and Margie Oteka Dye Sr. On Sept. 8, 1979, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Sedalia, he was married to Brenda Louise Gertz, who survives of the home.
His employment included Parkhurst Manufacturing Co., Sedalia; Obeco Manufacturing, Cherokee, Iowa; Monroe Custom Body, Greenfield, Ind.; Central Tractor, Sedalia; Orscheln Farm & Home, Sedalia; and Swischer Farm & Lawn, Warrensburg. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and had enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Also surviving are a son, William Eugene Dye and his fiance, Michelle R. Meeker, Sedalia; a sister, Margene Hoskins and her husband Terry, Branson; an uncle and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Liam Michael Dye.
Memorial services were held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, with Pastor Jeremy Freeman officiating.
Memorial contributions were suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or to the family, in care of the funeral chapel.
