The Diagnostic Ultrasound Department achieved reaccreditation in all areas, including general, OB/GYN and vascular ultrasound.

“Bothwell is the only hospital between Columbia and Kansas City that has achieved this level of accreditation,” said Radiology Director J.D. Lewis. “The accreditation provides our patients with confirmation that Bothwell adheres to national quality of care and imaging standards. It demonstrates our commitment to quality patient care.”

In addition to reaccreditation for several areas of the Ultrasound Department, all of Bothwell’s technologists hold multiple registries from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.

Ultrasound imaging, also known as sonography, uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of internal body parts to help physicians diagnose illness, injury or other medical problems. Bothwell’s ultrasound provides multi-dimensional imaging.

Most insurance, self-pay and Medicare and Medicaid assignment are accepted.

The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. The reaccreditation for Bothwell’s Diagnostic Ultrasound Department runs through April 2017.
