S-C freshmen end season with 56-36 win at O’Hara

SCFierceTiger.BadgeSqKANSAS CITY – The Smith-Cotton freshmen boys basketball team closed its season with a 56-36 win Monday night over O’Hara High.

After a tight first quarter that saw the Tigers take a 13-11 lead, S-C took command by limiting the Celtics to just two points in the second quarter. Zach Morrison and Zion Buckner paced the Tigers with 8 points apiece as S-C (7-8) held a 24-13 halftime lead.

Morrison finished with 19 points, while Buckner had 16. Hayden Ferguson led the Celtics with 10 points.

O’Hara won the B game, 38-25. Derek Gehlken led S-C with 9 points, and Bryce Wolfe had 6.
