SFCC Theatre Arts costume designer, coordinator honored

BeckyScott, SFCC theatre,1-14Becky Keightley Scott, State Fair Community College Theatre Arts costume designer and adjunct instructor, recently was honored for the costumes she created for SFCC’s November production of the children’s musical “How I Became a Pirate.”

Scott was recognized in the closing costume parade at the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival’s (KCACTF) annual Region 5 event Jan. 19-25 at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.

The parade highlighted the best costumes in the region. SFCC students modeled five costumes from “How I Became a Pirate.”

Scott and SFCC Theatre Arts Program Coordinator Eric Yazell also received achievement awards for their roles in SFCC’s fall studio one-act show, “This Is Not a Pipe Dream.” Scott was honored for direction and Yazell for sound design.EricYazell, SFCC theatre, 1-14

The KCACTF event featured theatre arts programs from undergraduate and graduate schools in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
