The January Women’s Democrat Meeting was held at Best Western.
President Jane Kelley opened the meeting at 6 p.m.
Jane led the prayer and pledge.
Secretary Charli Ackerman read the minutes from the October, November and December meetings. Approved
Treasurer Sheryl Von Holten presented the treasury report. Approved. Sheryl also collected dues.
Jane read a thank you note from CASA for the donations we gave at Christmas. They valued the total of items at $245.
Judi Ebers noted that our Women’s Democrat Club is to be commended for our generosity to the Community and people in need. She mentioned the items donated to CASA and also the $550 we gave for gifts and food for a family at Christmas.
Thoughts and prayers to members Carolyn Williams and continued prayers for Wanda Monsees.
President Jane said that she will appoint members to a nominating committee by next month for new officers.
Ann Hamilton announced that she needs to resign from helping at Community Café and asked for a replacement. We applauded Ann for her many years of dedicated service at Community Café. We will discuss at each meeting to make sure we will have enough members to serve at Community Café in the future.
Cookie Poole thanked everyone for their cards, friendship and prayers as she retired from Bothwell Regional Health Care.
Gary Grigsby, running for 51st District Representative was our guest speaker. He spoke of his plans for his campaign, and asked for support.
Judi Ebers also announced that her sister Connie McLaughlin was awarded the License Office for another four-year term. The club applauded Connie for her success.
