Right to Life observes 41st anniversary of Roe vs Wade

RoeWade-14The Sedalia chapter of the Missouri Right to Life sponsored an observance of the 41st anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court decision concerning Roe vs Wade legalizing abortion in the US on Wednesday at noon at the Pettis County Courthouse.

A half dozen speakers were featured this year at the podium. Music was provided by Darrin Hartman and the Sacred Heart High School Choir, as well a St. Paul’s Lutheran School students led by Judy MacLean.

The Knights of Columbus and the Boy Scouts of America also participated in the ceremony.

Father Mark Miller of Sacred Heart provided the Invocation, while Pastor Jeremy Freeman of St. Paul’s Lutheran provided the Benediction.

Doug Kniebert emceed the event, which was followed by a trip to Calvary Cemetery on North Engineer to place 41 red roses at the Monument to the Unborn. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
