Twyla Ann Leemhuis (Wadleigh) 64, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014. She was born on Oct. 15, 1949 and was the third child of Omer and Iva Wadleigh. She was preceded in death by her father Omer Wadleigh and her brother Roger Wadleigh.
She was born and raised in Sedalia. She graduated from Smith-Cotton High School in 1967 and spent much of her life in Missouri. She and her husband James Leemhuis also spent many years living and loving in Florida, then moved back to Sedalia to be with her grandchildren.
She married James Leemhuis on Dec. 29, 1984 with her son Kelly by her side and they had 29 adventure filled, wonderful years together. She had one son, Kelly Campbell and she loved his wife Amy as her own daughter. She also had two grandchildren, Morgan and WJ Campbell.
She was a wonderful artist and worked in many different mediums. For much of her life she worked retouching photograph negatives by hand. She also painted, sewed, quilted and made an art out of taking care of the ones she loved.
She leaves behind many family and friends who include her husband, James Leemhuis, her mother, Iva Wadleigh, her brother, Charles Wadleigh (wife Judy), her son Kelly Campbell (wife Amy), and two grandchildren Morgan and WJ Campbell.
A celebration of her life will be held Feb. 15.
