La Monte math teams competes at Camdenton

Katie PatrickThe La Monte math team traveled to Camdenton, to a math contest on Saturday, Jan. 18. As individuals they earned 14 medals and 12 ribbons to place fourth as a team. Each student took five tests. Other competing schools attending the contest were Lincoln, Richland, Sacred Heart, Skyline and Weableau.

Erin Warner (sophomore) earned a first place medal in Word Problems 10, two second place medals in Geometry 10 and Team 10, a third place medal in Algebra 10, and a fourth place ribbon in Computations 10. Erin was the overall second place sophomore of the contest.

Joey Perez (senior) earned two second place medals in Sports Math and Mixed Team, and three sixth places in Logs & Exponents, Probability & Statistics, and Trig.

Jessica Reynolds (senior) earned a third place medal in Word Problems 12, a fourth place ribbon in Logs & Exponents, a fifth place ribbon in Team 12, and eighth place in Trig.

Vada DeMotte (sophomore) earned three fourth place ribbons in Algebra 11, Computations 11 and Team 11, seventh place in Word Problems 10, and eighth place in Geometry 10.

Clayton DeMotte (senior) earned a fourth place ribbon in Word Problems 12, a fifth place ribbon in Team 12, seventh place in Geometry 12, eighth place in Logs & Exponents, and ninth place in Trig.

Doug Fletcher (freshman) earned a fifth place ribbon in Computations 9, sixth place in Team 9, and eighth place in Word Problems 9.

Antonia Arroyo (sophomore) earned a second place medal in Team 10 and sixth place in Calculus.

Jesse VanBooven (junior) earned a third place medal in Mixed Team, sixth place in Word Problems 11, and ninth place in Algebra 11.

Jolee VanBooven (sophomore) earned sixth place in Geometry 10 and ninth place in Algebra 10.

Jesus Cardenas (freshman) earned two sixth places in Word Problems 9 and Team 9.

Anna Natale (junior) earned a fifth place ribbon in Team 12, and two seventh places in Computations 11 and Geometry 11.

Maria Lemus (sophomore) earned a second place medal in Team 10, seventh place in Word Problems 11, and tenth place in Computations 10.

Sandra Arroyo (sophomore) earned a third place medal in Mixed Team, eighth place in Algebra 10, and ninth place in Computations 10.

Colton Wiley (freshman) earned a third place medal in Mixed Team and ninth place in Word Problems 9.

Alyson Patrick (senior) earned a fifth place ribbon in Team 12.

Lupe Lemus (freshman) earned sixth place in Team 9.
