On Sunday, Jan. 19, Mayor Horn issued a proclamation at the request of Voiture 333, 40/8 . The purpose of the proclamation was to recognize the generations of American service men and women in uniform defending their country. The week of Valentines’ Day has been recognized as “National Salute to Hospitalized Veterans.” A few years ago it was changed to recognize all veterans by the Veterans Administration and federal government as “National Salute To Veterans” (Feb. 9-15).
V 333, 40/8 decided to go one step further by recognizing all active duty, guard and reserve members in this area.
A party will be held on the evening of Friday, Feb. 14 in the Knights of Columbus Hall on S. Limit beginning at 6 p.m. There will be a seven-course meal, entertainment, music and dancing. Tickets are just $10 per person and maybe purchased by calling 287-3812. No liquor or smoking will be allowed.
The public is cordially invited to participate.
