Irene Belker birthdayIrene P. Belker, 93, of Sedalia, died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

Born Oct. 6, 1920 in O’Fallon, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Saali Himmelsbach.

On April 26, 1941 in St. Louis, MO she married Adolph B. Belker, Jr., who preceded her in death on June 20, 1999.

She is survived by three children Margaret Ann Roberts (Carroll), of Columbia, Robert Belker, Sr. (Louella), of Gravois Mills and Linda Ricker (Mike), of Sedalia; one sister, Clara Heinsz, of St. Charles; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella Sedalia Circle 310 and Sacred Heart Altar Sodality. She was active in the Jolly Elders, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Sedalia Elks Lodge 125 and Moose Lodge 1494. She was a “Gray Lady” volunteer at Bothwell Regional Health Center and a member of TOPS, Red Hats, Helping Hands and the Golden Entertainers. She enjoyed quilting and card playing and was a member of various quilting and card groups.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Mark Miller officiating.

Pallbearers will be Doug Roberts, David Roberts, Ryan Roberts, Nick Weber, Mike Ginter and Casey Belker.

Private entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorial donations are suggested to the Sacred Heart Foundation, in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel.
