A reception was held at the Ewing Vocational Center on Tuesday was attended by well over 100 people. He received an engraved pocket watch from the Center. Two cards were made for Glen and signed by all Glen’s co-workers at the Cooperative Workshop.

Glen’s brother Ken and his mother Sue Cromley enjoyed Glen’s retirement party along with several board members, staff and participants.

Glen Cromley was one of the first employee’s of Cooperative Workshops, Inc. (CWI) starting his employment in November 1965. Glen has grown up with CWI, or CWI has grown up with Glen!

Glen has always been an excellent employee. He had excellent attendance and could be counted on to do any job that was asked of him. He worked on filling bottles for Adco, Inc. which was the very first contract for CWI back in 1965. Glen has worked on our Hand-Man Janitorial crews, the crew at Maxion when it was Kelsey Hayes, the Recycle Center, and most recently the CHS Bloomin’ Gardens Greenhouse. At his retirement party, Glen said, “my favorite job was in the Greenhouse. Thank you for letting me work there!”

No Glen, the thanks is all ours! Thank you for 48 years and three months of dedicated service and helping make CWI what it is today! Photos and story courtesy Susan Mergen.GlenC-1
