HM.Donation.1216During the Dec. 16 Sedalia School District 200 board meeting, Janice Hargrave, art teacher at Horace Mann and Washington elementary schools, informed the board that Horace Mann was awarded the Crayola “Champion Creatively Alive Children” grant.

Only 20 schools nationwide are awarded this prestigious honor. The school will receive $1,000 in art supplies and $2,500 in additional supplies and professional development.

The grant is awarded through a partnership between Crayola and the National Association of Elementary School Principals. Hargrave also presented information regarding the donation of $2,000 from the Horace Mann PTA to be used toward the purchase of a new pottery kiln in the school’s art room.
