On Thursday Dec. 12, Sedalia Cadet Squadron #009, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), promoted Cadet Aaron D. Hensley to the grade of Cadet Senior Master Sergeant. Hensley also received a Certificate of Appreciation for assisting in making the Model Rocketry Symposium weekend in November a success.
He was valuable in the “day-to-day” scenarios that needed managing, and his support was greatly appreciated. At the squadron Christmas Party held at the Golden Corral in Sedalia, C/SMSgt Hensley was honored with the Cadet of the Quarter Award for his promotions, leadership qualities and involvement in squadron activities.
Civil Air Patrol, the official Air Force Auxiliary, is a civilian, volunteer, nonprofit organization. Members perform more than 95 percent of inland search and rescue missions in the United States as tasked by the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center.
Volunteers also take a leading role in aerospace education, serve as mentors to America’s finest youth program via the CAP Cadet Program, and perform Disaster Relief and Homeland Security missions.
