She was born on Aug. 16, 1932 in Wamego, Kan., a daughter of Gerhard and Helen Rowles Hansen.
On Aug. 16, 1953 she was married to Jesse Frank Benson until 1969. He preceded her in death in November of 1984. She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Robert Briscoe of Sedalia.
Surviving are three siblings: John R. Hansen and his wife Lois of Sarasota, Fla.; Paul A. Hansen and his wife Mimi Farrelly Hansen of Longmont, Colo.; and Martha Briscoe of Sedalia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She attended University of Kansas, University of Texas and Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Ga. She worked for Hewlett-Packard in sales and as a training specialist, taking her to South America and Europe. She retired after 42 years of service. She participated in community programs and was a committed patron of the arts in the Marietta area.
