William Edward White, 84, La Monte, died on Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at the Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center in Sedalia.

He was born on June 13, 1929 in Florence, son of Seth Clark and Ella Marie Schlobohm White. He was married on June 10, 1950 in Sedalia to Jo Etta Jones and she survives.

White graduated from Smith-Cotton High School. He was a farmer and loved his horses. He drove a truck for many years. He was a member of the La Monte Baptist Church and the La Monte Saddle Club. He enjoyed riding his horses. He loved the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter: Sue Plummer and her husband Michael of La Monte, three sons: Terry Edward White of La Monte, William Allen White and his wife Mildred of Sedalia, Mark Wayne White and his wife Nancy of Linn Valley, Kansas, two sisters: Emma Heaper and Elizabeth Jean Phillips both of Sedalia, eleven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter.

He was preceded by one sister: Mary Ellen Fowler and three brothers: Eugene Paul White, Elmer Dean White and Herman White.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 30 at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chappell officiating.

Cremation will follow the service.
