Sacred Heart Principal Dr. Mark Register has announced his resignation from the school effective June 30, 2014, it was learned today.
He sent the following letter to parents and parishioners:
Please allow me to begin this letter by saying that I love Sacred Heart School and Parish with all my heart. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve Sacred Heart Parish and School and the Diocese of Jefferson City for the past 29 years. With that being said, and as we are reminded in the third chapter of Ecclesiastes, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
Acknowledging that this has been a terribly difficult decision, I have come to believe that the time is right for change. As many of you may already know, I have submitted my resignation as Sacred Heart School administrator effective June 30, 2014. It is my hope that by making this announcement now, Fr. Miller and the Sacred Heart School Board will have ample time to conduct a thorough and strategic search in order to find that right person who will provide our wonderful school the direction it needs and deserves.
I believe that many positive things have happened here at SHS over the past three decades. I am proud of my time at Sacred Heart and feel blessed and grateful to have been allowed to serve. At the present time, through much prayer and reflection, I have reached the conclusion that it is the right time for our school to move forward with the fresh outlook of new leadership.
I cannot say thank you enough to all of our students and parents both past and present. Thank you for everything you have done to make my work fulfilling and our school so successful. Our school is a great place because of the people who work here, attend school here and generally support us in so many ways. Sacred Heart School truly is a labor of love.
It will be my continued prayer that the Lord bless all of those affiliated with Sacred Heart School. My wife and I feel blessed that we were able to raise and educate our children here. We look forward to the same wonderful opportunity of the Sacred Heart experience for our grandchildren in the years to come!
Submitted with Respect and Gratitude,
Mark Register, EdD
