Mary Frances Wright Rouchka, 91, of Sedalia, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Boone Hospital in Columbia surrounded by her loving family.
She was born March 16, 1922, in Fayette, a daughter of the late Thomas W. and Madellaner Rhue (Lessley) Wright. On Aug. 20, 1949, in Sedalia, she married Rudolph T. “Rudy” Rouchka, who passed away April 28, 2011.
Mrs. Rouchka was raised in Fayette and graduated from Fayette High School. She moved to Sedalia in 1940 and worked at Lamy’s for ten years and then became a homemaker. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella for over 60 years. She enjoyed reading, watching soap operas and feeding the birds and squirrels. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed her grandson, Alex. Her dog, Wendy, was her constant companion since the passing of her husband in 2011.
She is survived by a daughter, Sandra Kathryn Rouchka-Cline, and her husband, Dennis, of Sedalia; and a grandson, Alexander Tomas “Alex” Cline, of St. Louis; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Lee Lobaugh.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mike Volkmer officiating. Pallbearers will be Ron Lobaugh, Quentin Lobaugh, David Rouchka, Craig Burton, Frank Rouchka and Tom Rouchka. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Browne, Steve Rouchka, George Apel, Elizabeth Lewis and Jeannie Cable. Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery.
