Sedalia Mayor Elaine Horn, center, on Dec. 12 presented a proclamation to State Fair Community College President Dr. Joanna Anderson, left, and SFCC Board of Trustees President Gary Noland thanking the college for allowing the Sedalia Public Library to use its downtown facility as a temporary home while the library was undergoing major structural repairs.
The library has occupied SFCC’s storefront site at 515 South Ohio since July 2012. Sedalia’s library, the first in Missouri to be created by a grant from Andrew Carnegie, was dedicated in 1901. It is scheduled to reopen Monday at 311 W. Third Street. An open house is scheduled from 2-4 p.m. Sunday. Photo courtesy SFCC.
