In the semi-final game at Wentworth Academy, the La Monte Lady Vikings edged the Leeton Lady Bulldogs, 34-32.

Madison Harris led in scoring with 11 points, followed by Cathy Butts and Maya Martin, each with eight points.

The girls will be playing Calhoun in the championship game of the Mid State Conference Tournament this Friday at 6:30 p.m. (La Monte boys play at 8).

“I hope our girls come out with their game face on & ready to play on Friday. We came out flat tonight. We were slow on defense & not guarding aggressively. Offensively we couldn’t get into a flow with anything. I think a lot of it was simply overlooking Leeton because we beat them last year, and the girls thought it was going to be an easy win. Hopefully, we can learn from this & move on,” commented head coach Manuel Lujan.
