Williams-Woody Nissan in conjunction with local businesses and private donors is bringing a smile to the faces of 100 local children and their families this holiday season. Thanks to the giving spirit, the local dealership will provide100 Missouri Valley Community Action Agency Head Start children and their families with $100 gift cards.

The actual shopping event will take place on Dec. 14 at 9:30 a.m. when Head Start children take to the isles of Wal-Mart to make holiday purchases with the gift cards. Jackie Woody said that the Missouri Valley Head Start program seemed like a good match for this program. According to Woody, “We believe in the work that Head Start does and the positive outcomes it has for the children and families involved and for our community at large. We’re pleased to be able to work with MVCAA and are thrilled with the support that the project has received.”

MVCAA Head Start teachers nominated children to participate in the program. Suzanne Taylor, MVCAA Family Development Specialist in Pettis County, has coordinated the efforts on behalf of the agency.

“It’s incredible the amount of joy this brings for our children. To see their faces is beyond words. We are so grateful to the folks at Williams-Woody Nissan and the other donors for making this possible. For our families it kind of is a Christmas miracle,” Taylor said.
