GOP women meet, select new officers

The Pettis County Republican Women’s Club met recently and selected officers for the coming year.

President Sherri Bond welcomed members and guests and the minutes of the previous meeting were presented by Barbara Clevenger. Stacey Beard read the treasurer’s report.

Cheryl Brown, chairman of the nominating committee, presented the ballot for the coming year and it was approved. New officers include: Bond, president; Brown, first vice president; Betty Hopkins, second vice president and chaplain; Clevenger, secretary; and Beard, treasurer.

Appointed positions include: Lorraine Jackson, parliamentarian; Kristen Cox, legislation/capital alert chairman and public relations chairman; Diane Hering, Caring for America chairman; and Theresa Turner, literacy chairman.

The group then discussed a number of events, including the Christmas party to be held Dec. 18 at the home of Paul and Stacey Beard.
