The Community Retired Teachers Association met in regular session recently and heard a presentation on the ill-fated luxury liner Titanic.

Carolyn Hays conducted the business meeting, which was attended by 28 members and guests. Carol Klein gave the treasurer’s report and Jeanne Curry read the secretary’s report.

Jan Powers, MRTA past president, was a guest and reminded members to pay attention to the legislative session that begins in January.

Byron Matson told the group about the 100th anniversary of the Titanic and displayed a replica of the ship and several books. He also talked about the life of Molly Brown, Hannibal.

The group then discussed the Dec. 18 meeting, noting that a contributive luncheon would be held, followed by a music program at Christ and Trinity Lutheran Church.
