Pettis County Collector Marsha Boeschen reported that more than 40,000 real estate and personal property tax statements have been mailed out by her office, representing an estimated $32,000,000 in taxes to be collected.
The statements have a new look because the state has mandated that all vehicle identification numbers (VIN) be reported, beginning in the tax year of 2014.
In addition, the new statements include an area on the back where changes of address can be reported, and an area allowing the taxpayer to indicate if their payment will be made with a debit or credit card.
Taxpayers who have not received their statement by Dec. 1 are asked to contact the county collector at (660) 826-5000, Ext. 921. Questions about the statement should be addressed to the same number, Ext. 920. Taxpayers can make their payments directly on the second floor of the Pettis County Courthouse, or by using a drop box on the northeast corner of the courthouse, or by mail.
