S-C concludes successful ‘Wizard’ run

The Smith-Cotton High School production of “The Wizard of Oz,” which had performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday has concluded. The show played to nearly full houses each day.

Key directors include teachers Teri Turner (production), Chris Kindle (vocals) and Grant Maledy (Instrumental music), with support from Jennifer Renfro (choreography)and elementary school choir directors Cindy Calafaty, Michelle Gilger and Kylee Weber. Alex Wilken was the Assistant Student Director.

Shown in the top photo is Glenda, the Good Witch of the North, portrayed by Ashlyn Witt, and Dorothy, played by Haleigh Carson, as they join the Munchkins in song as part of the production. The Munchkins were played by Sedalia 200 district elementary school students.
