New growth in Sedalia continues, city says

According to a City of Sedalia press release, since 2008, new single-family housing construction has continued to contribute to Sedalia’s growth.

With the census figures up by 5% over 2000 figures and a 2012 estimate of 21,476 residents in city limits (not including the recently approved annexation of approximately 250 to 300 people in Cambridge Village), Sedalia housing demand in certain sectors has increased.

There have been 116 new single-family homes built since 2008 began. This averages at almost 20 houses per year with several years exceeding the average. The valuation of this construction is $12,524,300, averaging $107,968 per home with the most expensive at $202,000 and the most economical at $50,000.
