The SFCC Lady Roadrunners (5-2) lost to the Johnson County Community College Lady Cavaliers from Overland Park, Kan., 90-77, Wednesday night at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the SFCC campus.

“I expect them to really push the ball,” said Lady Roadrunners assistant coach Jordan Greenleaf on Nov. 15. “The Lady Cavaliers like to score a lot of points; right now they’re scoring 75 to 90 points a game. We have to contest their shots and keep them under 60 points.”

That didn’t happen Wednesday night, which saw the Lady Cavalier score 90 points to top the Lady Roadrunners’ 77.

SFCC won the last matchup, which was during the 2007-2008 season by a score of 63-52 at home

The Lady Roadrunners travel to Scotts Bluff, Neb., on Nov. 26 to play Western Nebraska Community College.

On Nov. 29, the ladies play the College of Southern Idaho, and they take on Treasure Valley Community College on Nov. 30 in the College of Southern Idaho Classic at Twin Falls, Idaho.

The Lady Roadrunners are on the road until January 7, when they play Arkansas Baptist College at 5 p.m. Photos by Randy Kirby, Sedalia News Journal.
